What: Impropriety Official Launch Night
When: Sat 30/01/2010, 7:30pm
Where: The Kazimier, Wolstenholme Square, Liverpool, L1 4JJ (map)
Who: Impropriety
How: £3 for culturepool members

If you came along to the culturepool 3rd birthday party you’ll be familiar with Impropriety, the talented troupe of improvisation thesps that have been playing regularly at Mello Mello.  A group of professional and non-professional actors who play out improvisation games to a comic and often surreal end - in a good way! We’ve been charmed by this group since we saw them at Organic Cherry and are extremely honoured to be taking part in their launch party. For those who didn’t get a chance to see them, here’s what they say about their launch night which will give you a taste of what’s in store…

Improv goes legit! After a year’s intensive training, the intrepid Impropriety performers are primed and ready to commit acts of comic brilliance based on your suggestions… yes, your suggestions. Lime your Lights and Grease your Paints, the Impropriety Music Hall of Mirth is at last open for Gaiety, Frolics and Fun!

Expect the unexpected as Impropriety take over The Mighty Kazimier in the heart of Liverpool’s Bohemian Quarter for their much vaunted launch event. Sample a little of something from each of our shows and take the time to meet the various Improprietors. So don’t Dilly Dally, we would love you to come and Roll out our Barrels on this our very special Launch Night.

Psst! Expect an after-show boogie!

So, you get the gist… come along, shout out suggestions for the actors to follow, laugh lots, drink some and then party after!

To get on the culturepool Guest List, email us your details (info@culturepool.org.uk) and you’ll get:

  • £3 concession price tickets (normally £5, pay cash on the door)

What: The Dreadful Hours
When: Sat 13/02/2010, 06:30 pm
Where: Liverpool Everyman Theatre, 13 Hope Street, Liverpool, L1 9BH (map)
Who: A pre-show discussion with writer, Chris Fittock, and the chance to chat to Yorgos & Eli from Tmesis afterwards
How: Contact the Everyman for tickets. Tel: 0151 709 4776 £12.50 (£10 concessions)

We’re back to see Tmesis in their latest production, but this time at the Liverpool Everyman. Dreadful Hours differs from previous Tmesis productions in that it includes ‘spoken word’, however, it’s still packed with the energetic physical performance that we’ve come to expect from Yorgos & Eli. Here’s what they say…

When one hour’s dinner can seem like years, yet years seem to pass in a heartbeat…

Combining Tmesis Theatre’s trademark physicality with new writing from acclaimed Northwest playwright Chris Fittock, The Dreadful Hours is a darkly comic drama exploring the quiet disintegration of love’s first flourish through the lifetime of one couple’s relationship. Peepolykus’s master of the ridiculous Javier Marzan directs what is sure to be a wonderfully inventive production full of dark humour and striking visuals.

We’ve organised a pre-show discussion with the writer, Chris Fittock, at 6.30pm before heading in to see the show.
