Five years ago we took our first tentative, wobbly steps into Liverpool’s cultural scene with a visit to FACT and, although we may have had the odd wobble, we’re still here five years on!

Come and join us on Saturday 27th August @ 1pm to celebrate our 5th birthday when we we’ll be joining our friends at the Above The Beaten Track festival at The Bluecoat. culturepool’s stage features Tom George, Andy Steele, Science of the Lamps and The Trestles, plus there’ll be some birthday games & prizes (including the obligatory culturepool birthday badge!). Then, following quickly on, we’re off to St Georges Hall on Tuesday 6th September as The Liverpool Shakespeare Festival make their triumphant return with Romeo & Juliet. culturepool have a special discounted ticket price and an after-show discussion arranged with the company who’s previous productions have included Macbeth, Midsummer Nights Dream, Hamlet and Rosencrantz & Goldenstern are Dead. Above the Beaten Track is a festival for the creative grass roots scene of Liverpool, returning in 2011 with more than a nod to honky tonk. It’s an opportunity for live music, DJs, performance art, poetry…
