If like
us you’ve only ever watched Charlie Chaplin films on the telly, this is
a unique opportunity to experience one of the original cinematic classics
in the style it was originally made for: on the big screen with a live
orchestral accompaniment conducted by one of the world’s acclaimed
conductors. And in classic culturepool style, we’ve also organised a
little bit extra - well actually, a HUGE amount extra thanks to our lovely
friends at the Phil....
Thanks Dawn!
Charlie
Chaplin’s silent romantic comedy City Lights tells the story of how the
little tramp falls in love with a blind flower girl and is often cited as
one of the top films of all time. Showing on world's only functioning
Walturdaw rising cinema screen, the film will be accompanied by the Royal
Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (RLPO) led by internationally renowned
conductor and composer Carl Davis who has tactfully restored Chaplin’s
original score.
culturepool
members can get heavily discounted tickets for £12 AND a the chance
to chat with the man himself, Carl Davis, AND pianist, Ian Buckle. Many of
you may know Carl Davis' wife Jean Boht (from Bread fame), who will also
joining Carl after the performance.
Tickets
numbers are limited, so please book as soon as possible – call 0151

last years amazing post show chat with Vasily Petrenko, we're extremely
happy to have organised another discussion with a world class conductor.
Not to be missed!
