It was great of so many of you to venture out into the cold to the Darwin lecture at St Brides. We enjoyed continuing the discussion in Peter Kavanagh’s before some us ended up doing their famous Thursday night quiz, and although we didn’t win we were a very close 2nd!
As per our last email we hope you’ve kept this Saturday 21st February free as we’re off to The Unity Theatre (Please see map) to watch That Takes Ovaries as part of the run up to International Women’s Day celebrations. The show starts at @ 7:30pm but we’ll be in the first floor bar from 7pm.
That Takes Ovaries is a celebration of women’s courage, perseverance and down-right outrageousness! Composed of true-life stories from women around the world, including a disabled woman who launches a ‘pee protest’ to secure accessible toilets at her college, an Asian woman who risks her life to make a documentary exposing sex-trafficking in India, and a female entrepreneur opening the first ever sex shop for women in the USA.
Afterwards, the theatre will become an open-floor and the audience will be invited to share their stories of women doing audacious things!
Following the show culturepool will give you the opportunity to meet the cast in the 2nd floor bar and chat to them about the performance. An exciting, unique theatre experience for women and men alike.
