As you know we like to look around and find the interesting events happening in the city and every now and again we come across a hidden gem, which is the case with our next event on Sunday 14th June at 2pm.....
We'll be joining award winning aerial performer Claire Cunningham for a combination of dance, music and a fantastic moving sculpture as the centrepiece in The Bluecoat's courtyard.
Claire was a highlight of last year's DADAFEST and returns with a magical new show at The Bluecoat. Sputnik: A Project of Possibilities draws performers and artists from all over the UK and Russia to tell the story of Jane, a young woman who wants to live away from Earth. She enlists the help of a watchmaker to build her a beautiful machine that fuses with her body and soul and spirits her away on a magical journey. Follow Jane's journey through her
blog.
For people of all ages, Sputnik is a unique performance installation that will leave you utterly spellbound, and as usual we've organised a little something extra for culturepool members! Claire will be around after the performance to chat to us and you'll also have a unique chance to see the machine up close.
No need to book as the performance is FREE.
