It was great to see so many of you on such a bitterly cold Saturday morning, well done for navigating the maze of road works to view the stunning images of Hardman at the Victoria Gallery. It’s a beautiful venue and we hope it will become a regular cultural stop off for many of you!

Thanks for all the positive feedback and fab conversation. We are hoping to organise something at Hardman's house on Rodney Street later in the year and will keep you posted! But for our next event, something a bit different.....

St Bride’s Church is hosting a lecture on Darwin Day (12th February) with speaker Jonathan Clatworthy. Charles Darwin was born 200 years ago and his work had a huge influence upon the modern world and how it was viewed. His then radical theory of natural selection caused debate and controversy, as it still does today. Don’t worry, it’s not a science lesson but a good old debate about the issues that surround creationism and evolution, and whether they can co-exist.

St Brides is an interesting venue that supports many community events. The lecture starts at 6pm but the doors will be open from 5.30pm with refreshments available. This is a FREE event, just turn up on the night!

We’ll then be heading off to Peter Kavanagh's pub on Egerton Street for a swift half and a chance to chat with Jonathan in a more informal environment.

Parking is available in the Church grounds. For more information visit http://www.stbridesliverpool.com. For further information on the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth visit http://www.darwinday.org.
