A brand new professional production of John Cameron Mitchell’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch has come to Liverpool for the first time! It’s a musical, but about as far from The Lion King as it’s possible to get…

Presented by special arrangement with Helen Merrill Ltd. of New York and Jose Weinberger Ltd of London, this tragic tale of abject love, loneliness, gender confusion and the platonic notion that sex is the effort to reconnect two halves of one ideal being is presented by award-winning Lodestar Theatre Company and made specifically for Kazimier.

Sultry songstress Jessica and the Rabbits open the evening and there will be a free after-show party for all in the venue from 10.00 til 2am hosted by the wonderful Dollman Disco (AKA the artist Gary Sollars).

Lodestar’s productions are always a joy, but don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what the people in the know at the Echo say…

“Hedwig touches you in places you weren’t expecting…It’s a wonderful moment when you realise you have just watched something special.  it’s even more wonderful when you realise everyone in the room agrees…Stott wrenches his songs from somewhere deep inside with a power that stuns the audience…No moment is boring and so many are packed with so much that you leave tearfully dumbfounded wanting to watch it over again.10/10 Inch perfect”

Tickets normally £10, but quote “culturepool” on the door to get the discounted rate of £7.00.

See you there!
