Awaiting Akuji, and Zalika’s Return (AtoZ) follow a sequence of events which occur and reoccur revealing themes, conflicts, and characters which interweave to create a story that is at once chaotic and perfectly composed.
The longest journey begins with a single step. Clutching a single red rose and a box of chocolates Melina rushes to the train station to meet a friend. AtoZ unfolds to tell the tale of Melina, her friends and the people she meets.
An exploration of Theatre of the Absurd, AtoZ is two comedic fifty minute pieces, full of characters caught in hopeless situations doing repetitive or meaningless actions.
AtoZ is parody of reality told with a mix of comedy with horrific or tragic images with characters caught in hopeless situations, using wordplay and dialogue full of clichés, wordplay, and nonsense; plots that run full circle
The show itself doesn't include traditional boundaries and is quite physical. It's.... different.
Devised from original ideas by the Company, scripted by Ian Moore.
The company is made up of performers aged from 12 to 19. The acting stars of the future will be joining culturepool after the show to talk about the performance.
Tickets are available for £7 from the Unity Theatre box office. To book your ticket call the Unity Theatre on 0151 709 4988 or book online using the following link.
