This event is FREE. Just turn up and enjoy!!

When we put together our 2010 Year of Health & Wellbeing project, Building On We’ve Got, we wanted to celebrate and rediscover the best things about Liverpool. Our next event at The Walker Art Gallery is exactly that.

The Walker is a stunning venue that, in addition to the special exhibitions, houses one of the finest collections of fine and decorative art in Europe. We love it. So, whether it’s been 6 days/weeks/months (or years even!) since you last mooched around it, come and join us to re-discover what is sometimes taken for granted. We guarantee you’ll see something new, or we’ll give you a free biccie.

The Walker has given us our own special gallery space to host the event on Thursday 25th November @ 6.30pm, and we’ve invited along local artist and film-maker, Robyn Woolston, to guide us around the collections and facilitate a workshop afterwards. Don’t worry if you haven’t got an artistic background, but if you do that’s OK too! Here’s what Robyn says:

“Art reveals a ‘relationship’ between where each and every one of us ‘meets’ the world. As a viewer one enters a gallery (often free of charge) and experience a ‘slice-of-life’ that has been crafted. What’s ‘offered’ is a transaction between viewer and object, artist and recipient; it’s the opportunity to begin a conversation, to experience a visual play-on-words and a perspective; a dialogue begins with a conversation between people and situations, some familiar, some unique.”

This event is FREE! Meet in the foyer at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start. There’s no need to book but if you do let us know it will help us plan refreshments.
