culturepool is supported by an enthusiastic team of volunteers who are passionate about art and culture, each bringing something unique to the organisation with a combined aim of expanding inclusion in the arts, both in and around Liverpool.
board members
-
Vinny Lawrenson-Woods
Vinny co-founded culturepool in 2006. Since then Vinny is heavily involved in Liverpool’s cultural scene facilitating projects, commissioning events, writing critical reviews for local media and promoting local art & culture. In 2009 Vinny launched the hugely successful Organic Cherry at The Bluecoat and continues to work as an advocate for local artists and performers.
-
Luan Lawrenson-Woods
In co-founding culturepool, Luan wanted to encourage people who, like her, may not be 'culturally experienced' to try out some of the interesting and exciting stuff that Liverpool had to offer. So, using her background in marketing, training and community engagement (and with no artistic or creative background whatsoever!) she devised culturepool.
-
Neil Edwards
Neil became a professional actor at the startlingly young age of 13. Further roles followed along with five years of film-school, which saw him immersed in all sorts of award winning films. He was an original member of the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse LEAP Writers group and, for ten years, an active member of Liverpool Playwrights. Since 2006 he has been a contributor to Manchester’s 24:7 Theatre Festival, writing, producing or appearing in four of its most successful shows to date.
